After completion of this program, the teen will be given a pass indicating successful completion of the program. Teens age 13-17, and a parent or guardian who wishes to use the fitness facilities must be evaluated and instructed by a DAPER personal trainer on lifting technique and safety in a gym environment. Youth under the age of 13 are not allowed in the third floor fitness center. No one under the age of 18 is allowed on the 2 nd floor of the Zesiger Fitness Center or the Alumni/Wang Fitness Center at any time. *There are no restrictions during summer, winter and holiday schedules. Patrons must exit the building no later than 15 minutes after closing.ĭuring the MIT Academic Year, youth access hours are put in place. Closing announcements will be made sixty (60), thirty (30) and fifteen (15) minutes prior to closing and again at the time of closing.Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian in the activity area at all times. Parents or Guardians of non-member participants under 18 years of age are allowed facility entry, but not facility usage. The purchase of a non-member group or private instruction package only permits the lesson participant access to the facility for their scheduled lesson and does not include the use of the facility outside of the scheduled lesson times.Members must always use their DAPER membership card through the access points, or present appropriate ID to obtain access to the facilities.Non-members will not be permitted to enter the facility without photo identification. Patrons are responsible for bringing photo identification in order to access the facility.Facility hours are subject to change seasonally, during holidays or other MIT closures or events.įor all research inquires, learn more here.Helium balloons are not permitted in the facility.Lawn chairs are not permitted in the facility.In-line skates, skateboards and hover-boards are permitted to be used inside the Center in the Multi-Activity Court (MAC) only.Pet owners are required to clean up after their pets. Pets, with the exception of service dogs, are only permitted to be walked through the common corridor of the Center but may not be taken into the athletic facilities.Blocking, propping, or restriction of emergency or other exits/entrances is prohibited. Unauthorized use will result in disciplinary action. Emergency equipment including telephones, intercoms, and exits are for emergency use only.Please dispose of trash and recyclables in the appropriate containers. Non-alcoholic beverages in resealable containers are permitted. Glass containers are not permitted anywhere in activity areas or locker rooms. Food, gum, and beverages are allowed in spectator and lounge areas only these items are not permitted in any activity area.Borrowed equipment must be returned the same day to the place where it was originally obtained. Personal equipment must be in good, usable condition. Discontinue use of any unsafe area until appropriate repairs/replacements have been made. Report damaged equipment or unsafe conditions immediately to staff.Tobacco use is not permitted in DAPER facilities.Staff decisions to enforce the alcohol/drug use policy are final. Symptoms of alcohol/drug use include (but are not limited to) slurred speech, impaired movement or slowed motor skills, odor of alcohol/chemical substances, erratic behavior, etc. Patrons who demonstrate symptoms that suggest alcohol or drug use will be asked to leave the premises and may have their membership suspended without refund.
Clothing, bags, balls, and other equipment must be stored off the playing floor and away from the activity zone.
For safety reasons, players may not warm-up in an activity area while activity is underway.
